Getting ready: Installation

1	Insert the Installation CD-ROM into your computer's CD-ROM drive. The installation launcher window appears. If the installation launcher window does not appear, click the CD-ROM drive icon on the Windows^® Explorer, and then double-click Setup.exe.
2	Click CLIÉ Utilities from the categories displayed on the left side of the window.
3	Click the Install button for Mobile Connection Wizard. The software installation starts. Follow the on-screen instruction to complete the installation.
4	Click Finish. The installation is complete.

Installing Mobile Manager

The Mobile Manager application is automatically installed on your CLIÉ™ handheld via the HotSync^® operation after creating profiles on the desktop using the Mobile Connection Wizard.

Important

1	Creating a connection profile with the same name as an existing Network or Connection setting will cause the existing setting on the CLIÉ™ handheld to be overwritten by the Mobile Mgr.
2	When used in conjunction with version 1.00 of the PEGA-WL100 driver, the MobileMgr 2.1. may not correctly indicate the status of a Wireless LAN Connection Profile activation. In some cases, the MobileMgr may incorrectly indicate a successful Wireless LAN Connection Profile activation even though some Wireless LAN configuration parameters are not properly set. This may result in a failed attempt at connecting via a Wireless LAN Connection Profile when using the MobileMgr.

Note

To check the PEGA-WL100 driver version number:

	i) Click the Menu icon, and then select "Info". ii) From the Device drop-down list, select "Handheld". iii) Click the "Version" details button. iv) Scroll the module list to locate "CFWL100 inf" and note the version listed.

If you have version 1.00 of the PEGA-WL100 driver,

please follow these steps to properly activate a Wireless LAN Connection Profile on your CLIÉ handheld:

1	Follow the instructions provided with the Mobile Connection Wizard to create a Wireless LAN Connection Profile (along with any other desired Connection Profiles) on your PC.
2	Perform a HotSync operation with your CLIÉ handheld.
3	Follow the instructions provided with the MobileMgr to activate your new Wireless LAN Connection Profile.
4	Return to the CLIE Launcher and choose the Prefs application.
5	Select the Network preferences applet.
6	Select Wireless LAN from the Service drop-down list.
7	Click Details.
8	Click OK on the Wireless LAN Setup form.
9	Return to the CLIE Launcher.

These steps will ensure that the best chance to properly establish a Wireless LAN network connection using any normal means supported on your CLIÉ handheld, including via the Connect button presented by either the MobileMgr or the Network Preferences application.

Perform a HotSync^® operation.
